RocketNews 24 (by KK Miller):

Is Ultraman really a normal everyday working hero? Who else is part of this line-up?

Mechanic, astronaut, hunter, fireman, police officer, Ultraman??? Maybe it’s not that Ultraman is some normal “working hero”, but that the people who do these other jobs are actually working superheroes!

If you are ready to take on the responsibilities of Ultraman, the super flashy red and silver Ultraman R Hi All Star will cost you 9,500 yen (US$88.80). However, that isn’t the only Ultraman star getting a brand new set of shoes. Collectors can also grab a pair of Baltanseijin R Slip Ox for the same price, or some Eleking R Hi for 8,500 yen ($79.45).

Nike may have just released its own pair of Quickstrike Air Force 1s commemorating the Chinese New Year, but reputed Chinese designer Zhijun Wang has revealed a pair of custom Forces dedicated to the Year of the Monkey that rivals the many of the Swoosh’s own in-house designs.

The customized lows are made up of a beige leather upper combined with leather accents, maroon livery and geometric motifs that reference the Chinese zodiac.

INVINCIBLE (Taiwan) x adidas Consortium Superstar 80v “Black”

Screen Shot 2015-11-19 at 2.47.18 PM

After unveiling the brown version of INVINCIBLE’s collaboration with adidas Consortium, another colorway has emerged. In an allover “Black” color scheme, this iteration is exclusive to INVINCIBLE’s store and adidas Consortium outlets No.74(Berlin) and No.42(Paris).
Featuring the same design as seen in the brown pair, the design is inspired by the indigenous peoples of INVINCIBLE’s native Taiwan. Taking cues from their costume which features pastel hues of red, white and blue, this uniform is interpreted in a string of beading around the sock lining. Instead of a suede, this pair boasts premium leather with INVINCIBLE’s embossed logo at the heel.
Anticipate this pair to hit INVINCIBLE and the aforementioned retailers on November 21.

ASICS GEL-Lyte EVO “Samurai” Pack

The latest modernized takes on the beloved GEL-Lyte III are fit for the dojo thanks to ASICS’s upcoming release of the GEL-Lyte EVO “Samurai” pack. Looking to the military nobility of early-modern Japan for inspiration, the pack sees a trio of colorways with tonal armor-esque uppers as speckling and gradients decorate the design’s dual-density midsole.

Complete with the EVO’s signature four-piece tooling, the trio of “Samurai” executions are due out October 16 at ASICS stockists in the UK.

Air Jordan 1 China-only Charlotte Hornets “Feng Shui” release

Hypebeast:

As we all know, Michael Jordan is the majority owner of the Charlotte Hornets, and as a result, we get to see some pretty fly Air Jordans inspired by the franchise.

This time around, the iconic Air Jordan 1 features a wonderful combination of purple, teal and white, making for a solid drop. Unfortunately however, this is slated to be a China-only release, which is why the brand has opted for a rather peculiar nickname for this model, considering it’s colorway.

Feng Shui is a “Chinese term that translates to wind-water in English, and is a philosophical system of uniting the mind, body and soul with the surrounding environment,” says Sole Collector.

The Air Jordan 1 “Feng Shui” will hit select Chinese stockists starting October 10.

ASICS GEL-Lyte V “Red Mamba”

After dropping a white version of the GEL-Respector and a black colorway of the fan-favorite GEL-Lyte III, ASICS is back with a brand new addition to its snake-inspired “Mamba” pack for Summer 2015.

Coming in the form of the GEL-Lyte V, the release echoes the aesthetic of the previous two drops, donning a luxurious faux snakeskin upper and a monochromatic execution — in this case, a bright red hue.

Retailing for $130 USD, the “Red Mamba” take on the GEL-Lyte V is available now via Sneaker Politics while supplies last.

ASICS GEL-Lyte III “Off-White Croc”

Perhaps a close second in terms of luxuriousness to the upcoming veg-tanned edition of the GEL-Lyte III — which is limited to just 300 pairs and will retail for $500 USD — is this off-white release from ASICS. Decked out in faux croc skin throughout, the tonal design is one of the cleanest GEL-Lyte IIIs to date, coupling an off-white leather upper with a matching rubber outsole, stark white GEL-cushioned midsole and matching lining.

Available now via atmos, the kicks will likely make their way to additional ASICS stockists in the coming weeks.
