atmos (Japan) x Timberland 6″ Boot “Camo”

This fall Tokyo-based atmos is taking on Timberland’s most iconic piece of footwear, customizing the beloved 6″ Boot for a limited edition release. Keeping the boot’s iconic “Wheat” look intact, atmos’ take on the Timbs sees the boot with a camouflage collar in place of the usual quilted leather.

Timberland fans and camouflage lovers alike can expect these to be available in-store and online November 14 for ¥25,000 JPY (approximately $203 USD).

Following some of its most recent collaborative releases, Timberland teams up with renowned Japanese lifestyle and fashion label BEAUTY&YOUTH UNITED ARROWS to produce a special custom Premium 6″ Boot. Emphasizing simplicity, the boots retain a simple uncluttered design that uses a waterproof suede construction, padded collar and anti-fatigue footbed. Small select accents to the pair include golden round eyelets, tonal wheat color stitches, and a leather tag with the B&Y logo embossed.

Release is slated for select BEAUTY&YOUTH UNITED ARROWS outlets in Japan and Taiwan on November 14 and select Timberland Asian retailers on November 21.

Timberland Mark Makers APAC: Jiawei from China


Following a brief stop in Taiwan, Timberland and its Asia Pacific Mark Makers campaign heads West to China where Jiawei offers a local’s perspective of the nation’s capital. When not hosting OST — his radio show devoted to film and film soundtracks — the DJ and Beijing native likes to let off steam by visiting the city’s hutongs otherwise known as traditional neighborhoods that help the city retain a timeless character.

This appreciation for classic aesthetics is likewise preserved with Jiawei’s style as his Skye Peak lambskin leather jacket, Clarendon River Plaid Shirt and Red Hill River Cardigan are paired with the city street-ready Classic 6″ Premium Boot, Zip Top and Roll Top. As it kicks off its upcoming Fall 2014 collection, Timberland presents a series highlighting how its simultaneously stylish and functional footwear are key choices in Asia’s busy lifestyles. First up on the tour is Hong Kong where local TV host and DJ Jim Yan rocks both the Baker Mountain 2-in-1 Trench coat and the Earthkeepers™ Stormbuck Duck 6″ Boot. An actor, model and host that frequently makes trips between Thailand and Singapore where he’s based, Utt is understandably a huge believer in getting away from the office to unwind.

Opening Ceremony x Timberland Fall/Winter 2013 Boots – A First Look


With the official lookbook releasing in the next few days, we can already give you a first look at the latest offering from the on-going collaboration between Opening Ceremony and Timberland. For Fall/Winter 2013 the two worked on two versions of the iconic 6″ boot.

Entitled “Roll-Top” boot and “Convenience” boot, one of them comes with a soft nylon roll-top ankle part and the other comes with an easy and practical elastic lace fastening system, which we have already seen in previous collaborations of the two brands. You can pre-order the boots already here.

George Tokoro x Timberland Premium Boots


Timberland recently teamed up with Japanese singer-songwriter and comedian George Tokoro to produce a special version of its Premium Boot as part of its fall collaborations. Certainly a departure from previous interpretations of the iconic boots in terms of silhouette, the most noticeable feature is the removable embossed leather tongue cover that straps on around the back of the boot collar with silver hardware. This cover is embroidered with both the word ‘kutsu’ (shoe) based on George’s handwriting as well as an upside down Chinese character for ‘fortune’.

Beneath this cover is a stylized stamp of Tokoro’s family name in Japanese as well as the words ‘Setagaya Base,’ a reference to Tokoro’s personal collection of cars, jackets, toys and more. This addition, combined with the high-contrast charcoal nubuck upper and red accents results in a unique but unorthodox style that really stands out. Priced at ¥24,150 JPY (approximately $240 USD), the pair is currently available for order over at atmos Tokyo.
